Parent Cafés are a supportive, family‑centered gathering where Head Start parents and caregivers come together to connect, share their experiences, and strengthen their confidence as their child’s first and most important teacher. This group is made up of only parents of currently enrolled children. It is one of the core pieces of Head Start's shared-governance structure, along side the Policy Council and governing body. Through guided conversation and activities, families explore protective factors, learn practical strategies to support their child’s development, and build meaningful relationships with other parents and staff. Parent Cafés help create a strong sense of community, empowering families to feel encouraged, informed, and actively engaged in their child’s early learning journey. Parent Cafes are held monthly for each center.
